Barry VanDerman joined United FM as the Operations Director in June 2024, bringing a wealth of experience and a unique skill set to the team. With a career journey that began as an apprentice engineer in the Army, Barry honed his technical skills and discipline before transitioning to the private sector.

In the private sector, Barry excelled as a maintenance engineer, demonstrating exceptional talent and dedication, which naturally led him into management roles. His progression did not stop there; Barry continued to climb the ladder to senior positions, driven by a passion for operational excellence and leadership.

Barry's technical prowess is complemented by his academic achievements, holding degrees in both Business Management and Occupational Psychology. This combination of engineering expertise and academic knowledge allows him to offer a distinctive perspective to his role. His understanding of occupational psychology, in particular, equips him with unique insights into team dynamics, employee performance, and organizational behaviour, making him a versatile leader capable of driving both efficiency and employee well-being.
